The biggest update yet. Visual Studio brings advanced pre-visualization directly into your workflow, letting you lock in creative decisions before you ever step on set.

Simply drop an image and start building. Change weather conditions from sunny to stormy in seconds. Shift the time of day from golden hour to midnight. Adjust cast expressions, modify makeup styles, or try different costume options. Add or remove props, furniture, and architectural details. Convert location scouts to sketches for mood boards.
Take location pictures and stand-in shots, then transform them into production-ready visuals without needing a VFX supervisor over your shoulder. Every edit preserves the essence of your original composition while giving you complete creative control.

100+ production-specific presets built for your department

Whether you are a Costume Designer exploring color palettes, a Production Designer dressing a set, or a Director fine-tuning the mood, Visual Studio speaks your language. Presets give you surgical control: specify exact color codes for wardrobe changes, adjust facial expressions for performance direction, modify lighting for specific times of day, or transform entire environments. Each preset is designed around real production needs, giving you the precision of a specialist without the technical barrier. We are adding more capabilities on a rolling basis.

Seamless integration with your workflow

Pull references directly from ShotDeck through our integration, then manipulate them to match your vision. Add your cast, adjust lighting conditions, modify weather, and transform them into storyboard frames that exactly match what you see in your head. Visual Studio is accessible throughout the app (in Workspaces, Storyboards, and Boards) so you can add visuals exactly where you work.

Improved Image Creation

We have massively improved the creation engine, giving you more precise tools for building Storyboards and visuals. Use previous references to maintain continuity across your project, ensuring consistent style and tone.

Cover History & Multiple Options

The Storyboard view in Story is now fully integrated with Visual Studio. Add multiple cover options to scenes in Story and flip through them to compare visual approaches. Cover History Settings are now available for Story → Scene covers.

Enhanced Scene Detection

Smarter script parsing

We have improved how Story reads your scripts. We are seeing up to a 60% increase in the accuracy of scene and element detection. This is just the beginning. Upcoming updates will bring Final Draft support, a versioning system, and script sync functionality in the coming days and weeks.

Please note that the updated parsing is undergoing further polish and will be fully optimized early next week.

PDF Export in Story

Finally.
Export single scenes or complete breakdowns with customizable settings. Choose what information to include and generate professional PDFs ready to hand off to your team.

Navigation Updates

Clearer section names

As we continue expanding the platform, we are updating navigation for better clarity: "Production Bible" is now Prep. We also introduced a redesigned Bottom Navigation Bar for faster access to key features.

Permissions System Overhaul

We rebuilt our permissions infrastructure from the ground up. You will feel the difference everywhere. Permissions touch every action you take, and now they are significantly faster and more reliable. We also resolved underlying issues from older versions, making collaboration smoother.
